2011 Festival

The 2011 vintage, the 37th one, allied tradition with innovation !

The evening started with the New Orleans Hot Shots, a swiss group known as much on this side of the Sarine as on the other side ! The group founded in 1987 is one the few swiss groups who still plays pure traditional New Orleans jazz. The black musicians of the legendary “Preservation Hall” constitute their models of which they display their philosophy while interpreting themes their own way.

Stable Roof Jazz & Blues Band

The main dish was served with a “hollandaise sauce” by a group named Stable Roof Jazz and Blues Band. It brought a particular touch in this musical evening, compromising harmoniously between traditional jazz and a modern interpretation. The group started in 1980 by playing old timers and as years went by their style evolved in different ways : New Orleans Dixieland, Swing, Blues, Gospel and Soul.
Their first rehearsal took place in ..a stable, hence their name ! They took part in numerous well known festivals both in Holland and abroad and have recorded more than 11 CDs and 4 DVDs.

Each musician plays several instruments which allows the group to perform with four “blowers” as well as a strong rhythmic section. Three of their members have belonged to the group for more than 13 years. Their moto has always been diversity and quality, which has brought them to international fame.
